    Ethical Approval 

    The Opposites Attract Study has been approved by the following Human Research Ethics Committees:

    • St Vincent’s Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee in Sydney (reference number 11/170). 
    • The Alfred Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee in Melbourne (reference number 80.12).
    • The Prince Charles Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee in Brisbane (reference number 13/70).
    • The University of New South Wales Human Research Ethics Committee (reference number HC12008).  

    The study also has ethical approval from two community-based ethics committees: ACON (reference number: 2011/06) and VAC/PLWHA Vic (reference number 04/11). 


    Your decision to participate in this study will not prejudice your future relations with any University or Hospital involved in this study, any participating clinic, any state-based AIDS Council, or any other community-based organisations. If you decide to participate you are free to withdraw from the study at any time without prejudice.
